Celero Capital partners with three Swedish entrepreneur-led companies to establish Marinum, set to become a leading Northern European group in maritime infrastructure services

Celero Capital has partnered with Tugab, Dawab and Marin & Haverikonsult to form Marinum. The ambition is to build the leading maritime infrastructure services group in Northern Europe, serving ports, contractors and the public sector.

Each of the three companies is a specialist in its field. Together, they offer everything from towage and marine assistance to commercial diving, underwater inspection and quay construction, backed by the vessels, equipment and certified personnel that waterline work demands. This allows Marinum to deliver anything from a single inspection dive to complete marine works under one contract, with short decision paths and safety first on every assignment.

On a pro forma basis, Marinum has annual revenue of approximately SEK 160 million and around 60 employees. The group will grow both organically and through further add-on acquisitions across Northern Europe.

The market for maritime infrastructure services is large and fragmented, with many small, often founder-owned companies. Demand is driven by ageing ports and quays in need of renewal, growing maritime activity and stricter safety and environmental requirements, while increased defence spending across the region is driving additional investment in ports and subsea infrastructure. These trends favour larger suppliers with broad technical capabilities and the resources to invest in vessels, equipment and people.

Each company will retain its brand, employees and customer relationships, while benefiting from shared resources within the group. The founders remain substantial shareholders in Marinum, with a direct stake in building the group over the long term. Mikael Matts has been appointed Chairman of the Board. He is an experienced board member and former CEO of Nimlas Group, and has previously held several senior positions at Skanska, including Executive Vice President of Skanska Sweden.

Joint statement from the three CEOs:

“Our companies are built on long-term customer relationships and solid technical know-how. Within Marinum, we can take on larger and more complex assignments, share equipment and expertise, and offer customers more under one contract. At the same time, each company keeps its own brand, team and way of working. We look forward to building the group together.” – Andreas Molin (Dawab), Frank Bolin (Tugab) and Oliver Lagne (Marin & Haverikonsult)

Peter Möller, Managing Partner at Celero Capital, says:

“Ports and quays across Northern Europe need significant investment, and work at the waterline requires vessels, equipment and certified people that few small companies can carry on their own. Tugab, Dawab and Marin & Haverikonsult are well-run businesses with strong local positions. Together they form a solid foundation for Marinum, and we look forward to supporting the founders as the group grows.”
